Infringement

Violation of a text punishable by imprisonment and/or a fine.

Police

Ensuring the safety of people and property.

Administrative Police

Police action to prevent breaches of public order (public safety, public tranquility, public morality).

Police judiciaire

Police force responsible for recording offences and tracking down the perpetrators.

Public Prosecutor

A magistrate who receives complaints and reports, directs investigations, decides on prosecutions and ensures that the law is enforced.
