3. Measurement-related definitions
3.1 Control and verification
In the context of quality management, the term "control" is used in conjunction with "measurement", "monitoring" or "verification".
The definition of "control" in ISO 9000 attests to this: "determination of conformity to specified requirements", supplemented by the note: "if the result of a control indicates conformity, it can be used for verification purposes".
The definition of "verification" is: "confirmation by objective evidence that specified requirements have been met".
In ISO 9001, the notions of "control" or "verification", including any associated measuring equipment, are mainly present in the following requirements:
