3. How to estimate the performance of an MMR with human action?

Two performance criteria are particularly important when dealing with MMRs involving human action:

  • the probability of error or failure in the performance of the task the operator has to carry out, which can be related to the broader notion of probability of failure or confidence level (CL);

  • the time needed to carry out the actions required to implement the MMR, which can be linked to the broader notion of response time.

3.1 Methods for estimating human "reliability
