2. What types of MMR involve human action?

2.1 Human MMR

These are actions or a succession of actions carried out by one or more operators. The operator may have a preventive or mitigating function. These MMR correspond to actions not relayed by technical safety elements.

  • Example of a human MMR for prevention: visual inspection of the appearance of a pipe to identify early signs of external corrosion.

  • Example of human mitigation MMR: closing a manual valve following visual detection of a leak.
