7. Definition of management scenarios and cost/benefit analysis

The different management scenarios are a combination of :

  • source and impact remediation: we need to determine to what concentration we need to remediate (what are the intrinsic performances of the techniques?). This presupposes sufficient mastery of the techniques to be able to estimate their advantages and disadvantages (limits, applicability, costs, time, abatement rates);

  • constructive measures: slab sealing, natural ventilation, forced ventilation, etc. ;

  • predictive residual risk analysis (RRA): final exposures must be considered acceptable;

  • potential for action on environmental uses: easements on certain parts of the site.
