1. Water transport

1.1 General

In practice, these points are relatively far apart, and sometimes considerable distances. From a technical point of view, we need to separate supply and distribution facilities.

The former are generally large (relative to the latter), and flows are usually unidirectional. On the other hand, distribution, except in older installations, is carried out via meshed structures where the direction of flow is variable, and where flows fluctuate greatly according to the needs of users, which vary greatly over the course of a single day and according to the time of year.

However, the relationships between flow rate, pressure, dimensions of the transport structure and the nature of its walls remain the same for both supply and distribution....
