6. Conclusion

We have seen that hybrid perovskites have remarkable optical and electronic properties. These materials are highly modular, and their bandgap width can be adjusted by modifying their composition. The charges photogenerated in these materials are highly mobile. They can be collected by injection into adjacent phases that form selective contacts. The latter must have suitable energy levels, enabling charge separation and limiting parasitic recombination phenomena. The high mobility of the charges also enables the use of relatively thick layers, a few hundred nanometers thick, with good absorption of sunlight.

From a chemical point of view, we have seen that these compounds are relatively easy to prepare in well-crystallized form at low temperatures. High-quality layers can be synthesized from precursor solutions, and different strategies have been described for optimizing...
