2. Industrial tractors

Tractors, like forklifts, come in both internal combustion and electric versions.

As for forklift trucks, their speed is limited by the Highway Code to 25 km/h for use on public roads. . This limitation is applied in virtually all applications.

Electric tractors are also available as walk-behind versions, on pneumatic tires. Their limited performance, both in terms of speed and hook force (reduced weight on the drive wheel to enable the drawbar to be turned), means they are ideal for maneuvering light trailers over short distances, close to workstations for example.

The hook force of electric tractors is given for a defined speed: uni-hourly, semi-hourly, 5 minutes or maximum.
