8. Regulations

The regulations and standards of the countries for which the machines are intended must be observed. We mention here only those that apply to machines intended for use in Europe, in the EC. However, many European standards (EN) are in line with ISO standards and are suitable for many countries outside the EC. Naturally, you'll need to make sure of this.

The FEM (European Materials Handling Federation) has drawn up recommendations concerning lifting equipment in general (FEM Section 1) and mobile cranes in particular (FEM Section 5). These texts are often among the basic texts used to draw up standards [2] .
