Overview
ABSTRACT
The improvement of computer technology has led to the emergence of new applications for the industrial function of manufacturing methods. The arrival of information systems has enabled the construction of computer aided management systems covering all the different functions within a company. French companies strive to improve their performance by introducing, among other things, a strategic policy based on Lean Management. These computer aided systems cannot cover all of the activities linked to Lean Manufacturing. They offer a large number of features for improving the performance of the manufacturing systems, by enhancing the gathering, processing, accumulation and exchange of information relating to production.

INTRODUCTION
The development of information technology has given rise to new supports for the production methods function. The advent of information systems has made it possible to build computerized management systems for the company's various functions.
Information technology is making an ever-increasing contribution to industrial management. This may involve :
forecasting ;
simulation study ;
traceability management, all three of which are now computerized to speed up the processing of changes;
versions, case studies and optimization.
Indeed, IT support provides functionalities that are even more necessary in this competitive environment:
efficient preparation and modification of all types of documents;
Increasing the reliability of studies by automating and formalizing approaches and procedures;
reuse of basic documents for new studies ;
standard documents available in updated versions;
the possibility of working in collaborative mode, involving different players in related departments.
The formalization of work methods is a prerequisite for the implementation of high-performance IT tools adopted and used by the company's players. Here, we present the particular framework of the interest of information systems for production methods in manufacturing companies.
