3.1 Principles
The aim of damping vibro-acoustic loads is not only to reduce their ability to propagate, but also to dissipate them in the strict sense, i.e. degrade them into heat. In the case of cyclic quantities (displacements and vibratory stresses), this means introducing a hysteresis phenomenon into the dynamic elasticity law linking stresses and displacements, and thus making the overall Young's model of the medium complex.
