7. Filtration equipment
There are various filtration methods. Regardless of the equipment chosen, it must be correctly sized to allow sufficient lubricant flow through the filter. The filtration threshold must correspond to the required surface quality of the part. As a general rule, the filtration threshold corresponds to 10 times the surface roughness (R a ).
There are different types of filters (table 3 ). It is important to note that overly fine filtration can cause the elimination of cutting performance additives or anti-wear additives.
