Also are given technical terms concerning tools and presses used, some about sheet metal deformation modes and the different forming processes, lubrication and defects resulting from stamping.

This glossary brings together the main technical terms and expressions used in sheet metal forming, describing the concepts, methods, tools and processes used in the field to :
the characteristics of the metal sheets used, with some explanation of their physical meaning and their influence ;
their deformation modes, which condition their local properties;
terms corresponding to the stamping presses and tools used;
the various existing techniques and their derivatives;
