4. Leak testing of installations
The new F-Gas regulation imposes stricter leakage checks to reduce emissions of fluorinated gases in refrigeration, air-conditioning and other equipment containing gases with a high global warming potential (GWP). Here are the main aspects of leak testing under these regulations.
4.1 Frequency of leak checks
Leak checks must be carried out regularly in line with the quantity of fluorinated gases (in tonnes of CO 2 equivalent) contained in the equipment. The regulations are no longer based solely on the charge in kilograms of gas, but on their equivalent in tons of CO 2 , to better reflect their climatic impact.
