2. Reduction of HFC quotas

The phase-out of HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) under règlement (UE) 2024/573 is detailed, with precise quantified targets for gradually reducing their use up to 2050. Here are the key figures.

2.1 Reduction of HFC quotas

  • 2025: HFC production and marketing will be reduced to 60% of average levels between 2011 and 2013.

  • 2030: quotas allocated to companies will be further reduced to around 30% of the baseline, in order to force the transition to less polluting alternatives.

  • 2036: this quota will be reduced to 15% of reference levels....
