2. What are the requirements and key points of the standard?
The ISO 50001 standard is entirely focused on the continuous improvement of energy performance. Its overall structure comprises ten clauses. Clauses 1 to 3 detail the scope, normative references, and terms and definitions of the standard. Clauses 4 to 10 describe the normative requirements. To move towards greater energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the standard recommends implementing the last seven requirements.
