 INTRODUCTION

Initially, the 2005 thermal regulations introduced the notion of airtightness, while the BBC-Effinergie label reinforced it by imposing practical measures. Subsequently, the RT2012/RE2020 regulations made airtightness a general requirement, treating it in the same way as annual consumption ratios in kWhep/m 2 . These measures are designed to accelerate the transition to increasingly energy-efficient buildings.

To ensure a good level of airtightness in a building, you need to be able to control the flow of air circulating through deliberate orifices (vents and air inlets) and limit uncontrolled flows, which can be a source of pathologies, discomfort and wasted energy.
