We've just seen that Facility Management is a range of services, the limits of which depend on each company. To take on such a role, you need to find a company or a manager with a versatile profile. This person, known as the Facility Manager, must be capable of :

• reduce infrastructure operating costs (buildings and equipment);

• control general service costs;

• reduce energy requirements ;

• negotiate energy prices;

• increase the site's energy efficiency.

To achieve this, they need technical and administrative skills, business management skills, negotiation skills, flexibility and internal and external communication skills. A good level of English may be required in companies...
