4. Conclusion
In response to changing climate risks and the energy transition, France’s electricity grids are deepening and accelerating their fundamental transformation. While, until now, grid adaptation has relied primarily on lessons learned from past storms, floods, and other events that have already occurred, the approach is now evolving: future risks are also being assessed so that they can be incorporated both into the adaptation of existing infrastructure and into the design of new facilities.
The future depends on the convergence of technological innovation, infrastructure adaptation, and evolving human practices. Artificial intelligence, digital twins, connected sensors, and recycled materials are helping to redefine standards of resilience, while optimizing costs and reducing the carbon footprint.
