6. Conclusion

This article deals with the measurement of radar cross section (RCS) in an anechoic chamber. Its aim is to provide an overview of the various points involved in obtaining an experimental RES. After introducing the quantities involved in this type of measurement, the article goes on to explain the sizing of SER measurement instrumentation in an anechoic chamber, based on an example. It then describes the general principle of RES measurement and the associated processing. The final section deals with the techniques used to obtain a radar image from a SER measurement. An overview of French experimental facilities for SER measurements is also presented. The reader is invited to consult the French network of microwave anechoic chamber users (RUCH) for a more precise idea of the French players and the types of measurements possible.
