1. Context

EAI, or Enterprise Application Integration, refers to a process that has been underway for many years, integrating various applications so that they can freely share information and processing. EAI is under the spotlight of software vendors and analysts alike, and is finally solving a problem that costs very large companies $100 billion a year [1] .

Forrester Research estimates that 30% of current IT spending worldwide is allocated to application integration [1] . In France, according to Pierre Audoin Consultants (2003), optimizing information systems through better integration of their various components remains the main concern of IT departments in large companies (68% of the panel surveyed). SMEs and SMIs are also aware of this issue....
