9. Production launch process

Within this family of processes, the international standard requires the service provider to master just one process. This is described below.

9.1 Production release management

The service provider makes available to the customer the service to which he has subscribed, in accordance with the signed commitments. Production release corresponds to the end of change management for both the components of a modified service and those of a new service.

The international standard gives the following definition for release management:

A set of new and/or changed configuration items that are tested and then introduced together into the production environment.
