1. General presentation

The equilibrium diagrams shown at the end of this article, [M 70-101] at [M 70-198] , are an original collection assembled by Philippe Poupeau in 1987. It comprises around one hundred phase diagrams, which he himself helped to complete. It covers the most representative fields of application in metallurgy, from precious metals to steels and cast irons, including light aluminum, magnesium and titanium alloys, copper and zinc alloys, as well as meltable alloys based on tin or lead, or, conversely, refractory alloys and creep-resistant superalloys.
