Global molybdenum reserves total 8.6 Mt, and resources total 18 Mt. Molybdenite-bearing porphyries alone account for 58.5% of global reserves, while all molybdenite-bearing copper porphyries account for 39.3%. The table at 3 shows the distribution of reserves by country.
