6.1 Don't overestimate your teams' auditing capacity
This applies to auditors, of course, but also to those being audited. In some companies, internal audits come on top of numerous customer audits, certification audits or inspections... It is therefore advisable, wherever possible, to take all these audit forecasts into account when planning internal audits. Beware, however, in the eyes of a certification auditor: a customer or certification audit is no substitute for an internal audit!
