3. Forming a group

The VA is a collective effort that requires a multidisciplinary group with knowledge of :

  • the market, customers and their needs, competitors ;

  • planned technologies ;

  • how it will be installed, commissioned, maintained and serviced;

  • how it will be used;

  • the environment in which it will be used.

Identify the people in your organization who have this knowledge. If one is missing, identify people who can call on outside expertise.

Assemble a group of six to ten people from several departments.
