7. What should be done in the event of a sale?

When a classified facility changes operator, the new operator must make a declaration to the prefecture within one month, stating his or her identity. When the change of operator concerns a facility subject to authorization, the application for authorization of the change of operator must contain, as an appendix, documents establishing the technical and financial capabilities of the new operator.

When the declaration of change of operator is complete, the Prefect issues a receipt free of charge. This applies to changes of company or company manager, name or legal form. This does not apply to changes affecting the management of an industrial establishment or the directors of the operating company.
