4. How does the standard evolve?
All international and national standards are subject to a revision process; the one concerning ISO 9001 is undoubtedly the most closely followed and discussed in the world. ISO 9001 is revised approximately every seven years. The first edition was published in 1987, the second in 1994, the next in 2000, followed by a version in 2008 and an in-depth revision in 2015. The next version is not expected before 2025.
