INTRODUCTION
For standards in general, and therefore also for those of ISO (the International Organization for Standardization), a distinction is made between those associated with products and services, and those concerning organizations. ISO 9001 falls into the latter category.
In the business world, ISO 9001 is the best-known of all organization and management system certification standards. It serves as a benchmark for commercial exchanges. Small businesses, large industrial groups, service providers, banks, town halls, hospitals, etc. can use it on a voluntary or contractual basis and, if they so choose, have their quality management systems certified to the requirements it specifies.
ISO 9001 certification is a guarantee of confidence in customer-supplier relations, and demonstrates the company's commitment to satisfying its customers and delivering products and services that meet their requirements.
In this fact sheet, you will learn about this reference system and obtain answers to the following questions:
What are the benefits of ISO 9001 certification?
How is ISO 9001 structured?
How can this reference system be deployed within the company?
How does the standard evolve?
