6. Mistakes to avoid

6.1 Don't neglect to follow up on a prefectoral formal notice (APMD)

If an operator is served with a formal notice for non-compliance or lack of authorization, it is important that he complies with it and undertakes the necessary work or improvements within a reasonable timeframe. In the absence of compliance within the time limits set or reasonably compatible with the APMD, the Environmental Inspectorate is entitled to impose a whole series of additional sanctions, ranging from the deposit of a sum to pay for the work to be carried out, to the closure of the operation.
