What is a BAT Conclusion?
A BAT Conclusion is a document that sets out the conclusions concerning the best available techniques (BAT), their description, the information needed to assess their applicability, the emission levels associated with the BAT, the associated monitoring measures, the associated consumption levels and, where applicable, the relevant site reclamation measures.
This document is included in a reference document called BREF, for a given sector ("vertical" BREFs) or for multi-sector aspects ("horizontal" BREFs). BREFs are drawn up by the European IPPC Bureau (EIPPCB), a department of the European Commission.
