Function

Action on the product. A function is formulated by an infinitive verb followed by a complement. It must make no reference to solutions.

Technical function (FT)

Internal product action (between components) defined by the designer-implementer, within the framework of a solution, to ensure service functions.

Primary function (PF)

Function for which the product or component is created.

Complementary function (CF)

Any function other than the main function(s).

User

Entity that researches a product, issues specifications for it, with a view to its acquisition and use by itself or others.
