Corrective action
Correcting the causes of non-conformities to prevent their recurrence. Corrective actions are defined in ISO 9001 (Chapter 8.5.2) as "measures taken to eliminate the cause of a detected non-conformity".
Curative action
Correction is defined in ISO 9001 (Chapter 8.5.3) as "an action aimed at eliminating a detected non-conformity". It is an action that corrects the problem without eradicating it.
Preventive action or preventing the risk of non-conformities occurring
Preventive actions are defined in ISO 9001 (Chapter 8.5.3) as "measures taken to eliminate the potential causes of non-conformity".
