3.1 Communicating with journalists
Using the external media as a crisis management tool means first and foremost realizing that the news business depends on a large number of constraints: frequency of publication, technical resources, implementation, editorial and transmission deadlines, requirements, professional ethics and deontology, and so on.
If you want to get your message across effectively, you need to take these constraints into account. By preparing the form of your message according to the requirements of the press, and more specifically of the medium for which it is intended, you put the maximum chances on your side, and the message may not be cut off. What's more, you'll make the journalist's job easier, and he'll be grateful.
