5. Mistakes to avoid

  • Think of any initiative, new idea, suggestion or project launch as innovation.

  • Set up internal procedures and rules for innovation without a strong link to the outside world (i.e. study of customer expectations, analysis of the ecosystem, relations with partners).

  • Isolating innovation in terms of teams, experts and functions within the company (for example, creating an innovation unit), when it's really a question of instilling a culture of innovation for everyone.

  • To be an innovative company, it is not enough to be dynamic and efficient; other criteria must also be met (see step 3), since innovation is linked to an organizational process that creates value for the company and/or its customer.
