5. Mistakes to avoid

5.1 Don't confuse regular exercises with random implementation

Don't confuse "know-how consolidated through regular exercises" with implementation once in a while.

The organization of a crisis unit aims to reduce the chaos zone, i.e. uncontrollable events, so that the decision-maker can act using structured, hierarchical and shared information.

A crisis unit is no more than :

  • a decision-maker ;

  • a secretariat ;

  • a coordinator ;

  • as many specialized units as problems identified;

  • a formalized, known information circuit.
