6. Reinventing the revenue model
From a purely economic vision, the revenue model or economic equation has become a strategic parameter in its own right, and a key choice. Why is this so? Business history has meant that the notion of a revenue model has underpinned practices in certain sectors. Until recently, it was accepted that this was more or less structural and highly dependent on each sector and the interplay of players. In short, a foregone conclusion! In fact, this is not the case at all, and reasoned analysis of the revenue model is the key to strategic innovation.
