3. Empowering and training people in business intelligence

Business intelligence is above all a question of motivation and skills. While technological tools are important –, particularly in terms of monitoring and coordination to enable cross-functionality and the circulation of information –, they only come second.

There are a number of points to consider when preparing the players involved in your business intelligence approach, such as :

  • the business intelligence manager. He or she is one of the key people in your approach. At the very least, he or she must master the aspects of security, intelligence and communication. Although he or she may not be a specialist in each of these areas, he or she will need to be able to talk to every player involved in the business intelligence process;
