2. Understanding the difference between an intrapreneur and an entrepreneur
Now that we've got the similarities out of the way, let's look at the differences. It all starts with the following situational fact.
Entrepreneurs spend most of their time looking for financial backers. It's a task he can't put aside. However, he has the freedom to choose the one or ones that suit him best, which is an undeniable advantage.
The intrapreneur, on the other hand, knows his main financer well, since it's his employer. This means they don't have the luxury of choosing who they want to work with. As a result, they have to spend a lot of time convincing and managing them. And therein lies the drawback.
It will therefore be important, and even essential, to manage the people inside the organization who may be impacted by the intrapreneurial initiative....
