5. What about Integrated Management Systems or IMS?
More and more companies have triple certification - quality, environmental and safety. As a result, these companies are certified to three management standards: ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 45001 (formerly OHSAS18001) for safety. A quality manual or, by extension to the three fields, an integrated management manual makes perfect sense. Given that the following elements are common to all three areas, it would make sense to merge them into a single manual:
an overall description of the fields of application for the three subjects;
a statement of quality, safety and environmental objectives;
a description of the activities related to the three areas;
documentary links.
