1. What's the use of a quality qanuel?
This is a fundamental question: why and for whom is such a document needed?
In order to reflect on its structure, the following diagram can be used:
list the recipients of the quality manual ;
for each recipient, ask yourself what information they need by reading your manual;
draw up a summary of the needs identified and deduce the content of your quality manual (table of contents).
A special note for companies and organizations in the automotive supply chain. While ISO 9001:2015 no longer requires a quality manual, IATF16949:2016 for the manufacture of series and replacement parts for the automotive industry does require a quality manual as part of the management...
