4. Empowering staff
Outside the regulatory framework, it may be useful to qualify personnel in order to :
harmonize practices;
reduce the variability of a manufacturing or measurement process;
define the priority tasks to be carried out when using temporary staff;
anticipate skill shortages when staff moves.
Tracking authorizations can be used to highlight the need for substitution for critical activities at a workstation (see table "Breaking down an activity into tasks for a workstation").
Depending on the nature of the position, activities may not be correlated with each other, in which case partial authorizations may be issued for some of the activities or tasks.
