A few definitions

Phytopharmaceutical products (commonly known as pesticides) are products and organisms intentionally introduced for the stimulation of natural plant defenses, crop protection and the management of gardens, vegetated areas and infrastructures (JEVI). They include herbicides, insecticides, fungicides (sprayed or seed-coated), base substances and biocontrol (macroorganisms, microorganisms, chemical mediators, natural substances of plant, animal or mineral origin).

Biodiversity is the "variability among living organisms from all sources including, inter alia, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems" (according to the UN and the Convention on Biological Diversity)....
