 INTRODUCTION

Autoradiography is a high-quality technique for studying the exact localization of a radiolabeled substance in tissue at cellular and subcellular levels, while preserving tissue architecture. Moreover, absolute or relative quantifications of the labeled substance can be obtained. However, autoradiography is also sometimes a complicated technique to interpret, and the combination of immunohistochemical and fluorometric techniques can overcome these problems. The main improvements in autoradiography consist in reducing the acquisition of the radioactive signal through the use of imagers that save considerable time and allow image analysis.
