1. Understanding the scope of application of standard by-laws
Also known as arrêtés ministériels (ministerial decrees), standard decrees relating to facilities classified for environmental protection are legal texts that apply to the same category of company or activity, wherever it is located in France.
These decrees are intended to specify the requirements for companies subject to the declaration system (simple declaration or declaration with control). From the moment a company receives its declaration receipt, it must comply with all the requirements inherent to its heading.
There are around 400 different headings, but not as many standard decrees.
