    Modeling describes and translates, in the form of mathematical equations, all the fluid mechanics phenomena applied to atmospheric dispersion.

    Simulation corresponds to the reconstruction of the atmospheric dispersion phenomenon, based on mathematical modelling, with the introduction of input parameters representing the specific characteristics of the site (topography, meteorology, emissions). The aim of these digital applications is to map the olfactory impact (in 2D or 3D) to which people living near an emitting site are exposed.

    These simulations are often more accurate than full-scale experiments, which are difficult to reproduce and costly.

    The quality of the result depends on both the relevance of the model used and the quality of the numerical simulations...
