Gérard GIRIN: Environmental engineer
INTRODUCTION
Installations classified for environmental protection (ICPE) require a prefectoral authorization before they can be operated. To obtain this authorization, the petitioner must submit a formal application.
The letter of request, which will accompany all the documents in the file enabling the Prefect to make a decision, must include all the information needed to :
clearly identify the applicant;
locate the project ;
know the planned activities based on the raw materials used and the manufacturing processes;
classify the plant as an ICPE.
To apply for authorization, you must write to the prefect of the département where your project is located.
