4.1 Main production stages for ductile iron pipe components
The manufacturing process for ductile iron pipes, fittings and accessories can be divided into three main stages:
liquid metal production and processing (metallurgy) ;
casting and heat treatment (foundry) ;
inspections, removal of interior and exterior coatings (product finishing).
