 INTRODUCTION

This dossier tackles the problems of modeling and designing applications that can be accessed on the Web using a simple browser. Using commented examples, it describes in detail the Object-Oriented Hypermedia Design Method (OOHDM).

We begin by analyzing the specific aspects and consequences of developing Web-accessible applications. This leads to the need for design methods specifically dedicated to the Web. The main steps involved in the OOHDM method are then described. An application example, treated in the form of a case study, serves as a guideline for the description of the method. A brief presentation of a few other aspects of Web design methodology and a comparative overview of other methods conclude this dossier.
