5. Evaluate the effectiveness of actions
Before definitively closing the action, it is necessary to ensure its effectiveness. This depends on the nature of the action.
In the case of a corrective action, you will assess whether the non-conformity has been eliminated and is not recurring. In the case of an opportunity for improvement, you will assess whether the expected performance targets have been achieved. In the case of risk management, you will assess the occurrence and impact of risks.
In all cases, you'll determine the means you're going to put in place to evaluate this and the associated deadlines. For example, you'll give yourself a period of 6 months to analyze the occurrence of malfunctions. Another example: at the next audit, you'll assess whether the non-conformity has been brought under control, or whether the risk has been managed during the process review....
